VG cats once said "decency went out the window the second I found the lawnmower." For me, my decency was gone the second I found something to hit zombies with. I believe that object was a chair. So far, the game/demo is a lot of fun, and I'm looking forward to the actual game. I am both concerned and excited about the game.

One of the major elements of the game was the time limit on when certain events could be completed. You have a watch with which to track the time of day, and at certain times events will occur. Most of these events revolve around survivors showing up and you going to rescue them. I never really cared for this in the last game for it was way too rigid of a system. Bad as it was trying to get a person from point A to point B try doing that through a legion of zombies. Add that that events will take place in your actual safe zone that you need to deal with and it took the fun out of the game.

I had an awful time rescuing the survivors as well. When taking them, back to the safe zones zombies will of course swamp them trying to feast on their internal organs. As they are mostly inept, they will need your assistance to rescue them. When there surrounded by zombies though its very hard to control your swings when you have hack madly at the hoard to get through them. I had to have cut my own companions in half about %50 of the time. This never stopped throughout the game either.

Enter left for dead case zero. Same time mission system but vastly improved. Survivors take a fraction of the damage you deal to them. Hack away madly they'll be fine. There is also a lot more room to run around in, so you won't necessarily have to lead them through the most congested points anymore. Also, events off the main story line revolve around the survivors. While you don't have to rescue them to progress, you can kill two birds with one stone so to speak. For example, you have to assemble parts of a bike together in order to escape the town. The parts are in the hands of the various survivors around the town. By locating and rescuing people, you are in fact coming closer tto the end of the game. This system is a much better system to manage as I personally do not feel like I'm having to jump off of the main path in order to save these annoying people.

I'm still working on the combo system. My specialty is a bat with nails tapped to them, but I also enjoy the rake/battery combo. Electrifying a zombie knocking him back ten feet where he electrocutes a whole group of them is insanely entertaining. Some of the combos are pretty straightforward while some are not. Mixing paper and alcohol to make Molotov Cocktails is pretty easy. Attaching a rake to a battery is not, and I'm not sure why I would want to tap nails onto a propane tank. My gut reaction is to throw the tank into the midst of zombies and shoot it. I'm working on the chainsaw combo. I know its supposed to be attached to something to make it a spear but I'm not sure what it is. I think a broom, but I'm not sure. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Another late night

Just went running now inside for some Castlevania. Gonna watch the movie Hot Rod in a bit. Feel another sleepless night coming on. It happens I guess.

If I were to tell you I was thinking of developing a career as a public speaker what would you tell me? Probably that there is no such career. Public speaking is just a side portion of another career. Namely you write a book, or you develop a consulting firm, or you stand on a soap box in the middle of the park because your crazy. I'm pretty sure I'm the last one.

My sister once told me something that has stuck in my gut for a while now. I told her I was thinking of going back to school for a second degree in a different field. She told me that this was just another "one of my little things" that I do. I come up with something off the wall and never follow it through. Not very well at any rate she added. My best bet would be keep working and settle in for the long haul where I currently am. Or try out a career in HR. She was so drunk she couldn't even remember she said it five minutes later. To say that stung a bit is an understatement.

It made me think. You know those incidents in life where you look back and wonder if everything you knew is wrong. Where you look at your friends and wonder what they think of you. Well, this was one of them.

What impression do you give to the people around you? To the people close to you? Do they look at you and think your gonna be somebody someday? Or, is it your like a child building a sky scraper out of legos. "Well he thinks its like the real thing." My manager told me the other day out of the thousands of sales reps in this company I'm number two. I could be number one, I just had to develop my leadership skills. "Lead by example" he said. I wonder if I'm even capable of that.

How do you fix something you've done your entire life. Can you even go to school for that?

Like I said, its going to be a late night.

Late Night

I know its late and I'm up. I can't sleep. So I figure I'd post something exciting.

So, two games that have so far flown under the radar that I have to recommend who likes unique games(Naveen) or old classics(Naveen) should fit right in with these games. Limbo is a puzzle solving sidescroller all in black in white with creepy imagery. Castlevania HD is reminiscent of the classic games only its designed for up to six player co-op play. The game can be played by just a single player but, as you can imagine, the game is much more fun with multiple people. Both games are X-box live arcade games and are available for $15.00 or 1200 points. Check them out.

Alright, I'm gonna try some reading to help me get back to bed.

Lamar Out!

Force of habit

I figure if I just keep posting eventually I'll have something to post about. By then, hopefully, it will be a habit and I'll actually be good at this. I know most of you, well all of you, never read my blog but the more I put into this I think the more people will come to read it.

It should work.

So anyway, while I'm at it I'll try the same tactic with working out in the morning. If I just keep doing it, it will become habit and before I know it I'll be in shape. Hurrah.

So far I've ran/walked everyday for a week, and I'm starting to look forward to the next session. So I think I'm winning the war against my mind. So far. Now if only my legs would stop shooting horendous pain into my nerves I'd do great.

Now this is a movie I would see

http://www.indymogul.com/backyardfx/episode/RA_20100728/twilight-vs-blade-outtakes

http://www.indymogul.com/backyardfx/episode/RA_20100726/breaking-dawn-trailer-parody-rated-awesome

Halo Wars

Hey kids, are you tired of real time strategy games(RTS) that demand you play with strategy in mind? Do you hate how these games make you try to conserve troops and organize them into squads? What about how the games give you ten completely different units with unique abilities? Why not just give ten units exactly the same and then we can pick the ones we want to play with? And don't you just hate how they have four or five different races to play, along with completely different units in each race? Its so confusing. Do they really think were gonna play all those races? If you've had problems like these and more then Halo Wars is the game for you.

Only two races! No Strategy! No difference in units! No difference in the two races! Somewhat reminiscent of the games with similar name! That's right kids. Hate strategy? Hate conservation? Leave them all behind shove as many units at the enemy as you damn well please. Like tanks? Send ten of them. Like troops? Send a billion of them. There lives are expendable and you'll still turn out okay. The name of the game is build as many units as you possibly can. Watch as our patented control scheme only allows you to group your army into a single unit and move them at the speed of the slowest unit in the group. It's much simpler that way!

But mister voice, they rank you at the end of each match, and show you have well you did.

Yeah, but they sure don't stop you from playing the way you just did now do they.

So come on down the Halo Wars and play a game exactly like every other RTS game out there minus strategy and variety.

All joking aside, the games okay. It's entertaining.

Grammer

I know I'm going to hate myself for this, but in addition to commenting on the subjects could you guys point out any spelling or grammar errors I might have. I watched a manager at that store tell two people, one in front of the other, when asked that he didn't work at that store. He would turn away from them while doing this to hide the Circuit City logo on his shirt to help with his story. It wasn't until I stepped in front of him and requested his help that he admitted his place of employment. All that for a damn Gears of war game, which I don't even like mind you. I purchased the game simply to play with friends and for my fabulous parties. I might hold one.

I did find some great deals though sixty dollars for two two gig notebook ram. I'm not sure my computer can take such ram but it was a good deal mind you. Incidentally, that sixty dollars represented the only items of my three-hundred and one dollar purchase that I actually needed. But, they were on sale mind you. This is the reason why I don't go into electronic stores anymore.

The Circuit

CIRCUIT CITY LIQUIDATION WHOOHOOO!!!

Hey there my adoring fans....

Anyway I thought you guys would get a kick out of this one. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of time tonight so I'll make this quick. I had a really nice paycheck from the last two weeks and so I went out and splurged on an XBOX 360. Also I'm starting MBA school on Monday. How will these two things work out together, hell if I know.

The point is that now I feel that I can finally satisfied that I am on my way so to speak. For the last seven months since graduating from college I worried about my future. Right now i'm the sales manager for a retail chain selling suits and I just didn't know where I could grow in this company or beyond. Now I have some idea.

I don't know if the specialization of accounting is what I want, but I know I'll find out soon enough. So hopefully in the next year or so things will be looking brighter.

Easter

Happy Easter everyone,

I just got back from a trip down to my relatives house, and I'm extremely tired. I'm not going to go into much detail now, but it was a wonderful trip. I got to see my cousin Hayden who is adorable, and quite a handful. Nearing the age of two he is developing a love of the Thomas the Train things. Incidentally, according to Wikipedia, Hayden is actually my second cousin. The more you know. Enough about that, on to more exciting things.

I've decided to setup a website of all the stories and characters I've created over the years. I'm getting older, and soon the world will begin to swallow me before I am able to do anything with them. Pretty soon, I'll have a 8-10pm job, and all these things I created will be lost in my distant past. Like the lady Laura commented on how the CGT program at Purdue was starting to stifle her creativity, I feel life will start to take mine away, unless I make a concerted effort to maintain it.

Now upon the mention of me making something some of you might have cringed. As your muscles tensed and the hair on the back of your neck stood up you might have thought back to my "other" bastard projects. I won't hide from them, because I have nothing to be ashamed of. Sure the DVD case was kinda lopsided, and that computer blew up, and there was something about a flamboyant dwarf, but even so things came out okay. Just give me a chance; I'm much more focused this time around.

Anyway what I'm planning is ambitious, but I know I can do this. I'll fill everyone in on what I'm planning in my next post, for now I'm heading to bed. See you all tomorrow.

Last chance

Hey guys,

Some exciting news guys. For the past few years my dad has been carrying around a very special invention of his. Because, of legal mumbo-jumbo I can't go into detail about what it is he made, but rest assured its really cool. He's put a lot of hard work and effort into its creation and now it looks like it might pay off. . He just gave me the news that there are two investors who are willing to fund the creation of his invention. He has a presentation for the device in two weeks, and he wants me to help him build a prototype. I've already told him I'm going to do a lot more than that.

Ever since my Dad's stroke things have been very hard for us. We nearly lost our business from all the medical bills that developed. Even so we still had to close down our office and work from home. My Dad says he now has about a third of the business he had before his stroke. He started developing this device before he became sick, but until now has never had the chance to bring it to life. This project means a lot to my Dad, more so than most people understand.

My Mom, however, doesn't completely understand this. She's made him promise that if the investors aren't interested in funding this project he'll put it to rest once and for all. He's told me that he'll throw away all his notes and give the prototype to me with the hope that I bring it to life someday. This project means a lot to me as well my Dad, and if he can't finish it, then I will.

Grad

Hey everybody,

I've decided that to get ahead in life I've got to find a leg up somewhere. So with that in mind I've decided to hunker down and apply to get into MBA school. Yesterday I bought a Kaplan study guide, and have so far been taken as little free time as I have to dive into it. So far it look like this test is going to be a challenge.

The GMAT is definatly going to be difficult. For those who don't know this test is basically the main deciding factor for if your are going to get into an IVY league school or a tutor down the street. The test begins with two Analytical Writing Assessments-essays on assigned topics- each 30 minutes. Then you'll move on to two 75-minute multiple-choice sections: Math (Quantitative) and Verbal. Basically, this is like the SAT's with the quad damage power up. Now I'll that math problems have been tough for me, but I've always found I can overcome it in the end. The part of the test that worries me are those essays and verbal section.

I haven't gotten far enough into my study guide yet to know exactly what their looking for in the essays, but I'm kinda getting a sense of whats going on in the verbal sections. Its broken down to be just like the SAT. One section will involve you will be given a passage and asked to select the answer that either supports or dissuades the argument. The passages will get longer as the test moves on, and the questions will become more in depth. I'm more worried about the longer passages that I am the shorter sections. I had a critical thinking course in college that really opened my eyes to this sort of things. I've found I'm pretty good at it so far.

So anyway, thats whats going on with that. I haven't set a date yet for when I'm going to take the test. My gut feeling right now will be sometime in either July or August. For right now I just want to study casually while I focus on calming down the drama thats developing at my work. I can already see that I'm going to have to set a date for it at some point otherwise I may never put the effort into it that I need. Nothing like a next day test to really push away that laziness.

Anyway, some of you might be wondering what exactly I'm going to try to MBA school for and where I'm going to be going. Well, honestly, I only have an answer to one of those questions, but I'm pretty sure about the other one. I'm going for an MBA with a concentration in finance. After a year or so I'm going to try to apply for CPA license. My hope is that in a few years I'll be crunching numbers for either a large bank or a notable game publishing company. Now some of you may be surprised by what I've just said as I may not fit the description that comes to mind with you think of a certified number cruncher. Also, I don't always come off as being the brightest person you've ever met. However, I will say this. I know what its like to fail and be left behind, and I won't let that happen to myself. I have an interest in all the details that go into making a business work and I want to study it further. I'll just work as hard as I can.

Well thats it in a nutshell about whats going on with me. I've got two more posts I want to make before I'm done before I'm done for the night. So everyone stay up a little bit longer.

First time doing this...SO YOU BE QUIET!!!

Hey all!

Well I thought I'd finally join the band-wagon as blogging seems to be the only way I hear from my friends anymore.

I'd like to start out by asking for the forgiveness of my viewers for my spelling and grammar mistakes. My current career does not call for me to write very much, and so I have fallen out of practice. Hopefully, this new adventure of mine will bring all those techniques back to me.

My title of this blog kinda reflects what I think of in terms of everything I have done over the last seven months of me working. Unfortunately, I have found that most of the decisions I've made have been for all the wrong reasons. This idea lead to my creation of the title. I'm not going to get into really gritty details right now; I've got other things to do.

So here we go...
